Аннотация

Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems in the future that will be capable of 6G require the highest possible data rate, under a millisecond latency, an enormous scale of connecting devices, and high tolerance to interference. Radio-frequency (RF) traditional technologies like WiFi are congested with their spectrums, in addition to having limitations in scaling up in dense areas. Light Fidelity (LiFi) functioning in the visible spectral range has a huge unlicensed frequency bandwidth, spatial reuse is high and is inbuilt secure. But the performance of LiFi is vulnerable to the line-of-sight (LOS) availability and the illumination limitations. The present paper offers a solution to a LiFi–WiFi communication structure that incorporates optical and RF connections to enable the provision of high-speed, low-latency, and dependable connectivity to 6G-ready IoT communication. The framework is a dynamic choice of access technologies which depends on channel quality, mobility, and traffic needs. Analytical modeling, evaluation based on simulation and comparative analysis prove that there is a dramatic improvement in throughput and latency performance with a proposed hybrid approach in relation to pure WiFi systems, and that it can sustain solid connectivity with the characteristics of mobility and blockage.
