This paper provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of retail trade statistics and its impact on economic growth. It explores the conceptual foundations of retail trade, the role of statistical systems in analyzing market dynamics, and the relationship between retail activity and macroeconomic performance. The study emphasizes the importance of retail trade as both an indicator and a driver of economic development. Particular attention is given to structural transformations, consumer behavior, and the influence of digital technologies. The findings highlight that retail trade statistics are essential for understanding economic processes, supporting policy decisions, and enhancing sustainable development strategies in both developed and emerging economies.
