The rapid development of information technologies has significantly increased the importance of computer networks in educational institutions. Modern schools and universities depend on reliable network infrastructures to support teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities. This paper focuses on the design and management of computer networks in educational environments. It discusses key aspects of network planning, including network topology, hardware selection, scalability, and performance optimization. In addition, the study highlights essential network management practices such as monitoring, security management, and data backup. Common challenges faced by educational institutions, including limited budgets and security threats, are also examined. The paper concludes that effective network design and proper management are crucial for ensuring secure, efficient, and sustainable network operations in educational institutions.
