CRIMINAL-LEGAL CHARACTERIZATION OF FRAUD IN ONLINE LENDING AND LEGAL MECHANISMS FOR THE PROTECTION OF CITIZENS' RIGHTS

This article analyzes the criminal-law characterization of fraud committed in the process of online lending, its place in criminal legislation, and its application in judicial practice. It also examines the legal mechanisms for protecting the rights of victims in cases of online loans оформed through fraud, based on the new Regulation approved on January 21, 2026, by the Ministry of Justice and the Central Bank. The obligations of credit institutions, the right of recourse, and issues of criminal liability are studied on a scientific basis.
