Abstract The primary goal of this study is to enhance fracturing operational service quality and sustainability by reducing downtime and improving the overall fracturing operation performance in Saudi Arabia. A dedicated maintenance facility was commissioned to address recurring operational challenges, minimize unplanned maintenance costs, and ensure the reliability of fracturing service delivery while establishing a scalable model for efficient fracturing equipment management. The approach utilized a systematic approach comprising design, implementation, and evaluation to establish a comprehensive maintenance workflow. It involved customizing maintenance facility designed with ergonomic layouts, advanced diagnostic tools, equipment-specific tool, and maintenance protocols specifically developed for fracturing equipment. The maintenance protocol was established by integrating predictive maintenance technologies, digitalized maintenance management systems, and personnel training programs to ensure process reliability. Validation was achieved by conducting a comparative analysis of maintenance process, equipment uptime, and fracturing performance metrics before and after facility implementation and established maintenance protocol. The purpose-built frac equipment maintenance facility has significantly improved reliability and service delivery. Predictive maintenance strategies and a digitalized management system provide real-time visibility, prioritize critical repairs, and minimize downtime. Enhanced personnel training reduces errors and ensures compliance with protocols. Since 2022, across 300+ fracturing stages totaling 17,007 annual working hours, equipment failures accounted for only 187.5 hours (0.1% NPT), earning client recognition for service quality. Economic analysis shows reduced unplanned maintenance costs through streamlined processes and resource optimization. Performance metrics confirm higher productivity, faster repair turnaround, and improved equipment reliability, driven by the optimized facility and tailored maintenance protocols. This paper will provide the readers with insights on the importance of maintenance protocols on optimizing fracturing operations. It provides key recommendations on implementation of the latest maintenance technology innovations in fracturing fleets in a way that led to significant improvements in the overall fracturing operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
