CYBERCRIME: THE THREAT IN THE INFORMATION AGE AND THE FIGHT AGAINST IT

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the processes through which crime is shifting from traditional forms to the digital environment in the context of the rapid development of information technologies and the expansion of the digital space. It examines the global and national threats posed by cybercrime, as well as their socio-economic and legal consequences. Within the framework of the study, the transboundary nature of cybercrime, its high level of anonymity, and its technological complexity are substantiated from a scholarly perspective, particularly in terms of their impact on law enforcement activities. The findings of the study demonstrate that improving the effectiveness of combating cybercrime requires the enhancement of the regulatory and legal framework, the development of digital investigation and forensic expertise institutions, and the implementation of a scientifically grounded and integrated approach. The conclusions of this article are of significant theoretical and practical relevance for improving state policy in the field of combating cybercrime and for advancing law enforcement practice.
