POLYSEMY OF ONLINE TRADE TERMS IN THE LOGISTICS SECTOR IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES
Аннотация
This study examines the polysemy of logistics and e-commerce terminology in English and Uzbek. The rapid development of the digital economy, international trade, and logistics infrastructure has intensified the emergence of new terms and the semantic expansion of existing ones. In logistics and online trade, many lexical units acquire multiple interrelated meanings due to semantic derivation, metaphorical extension, and functional diversification. The research analyzes typological differences between English and Uzbek, showing that polysemy in English often develops within a single lexical unit, whereas in Uzbek it is frequently differentiated through affixation and word-formation processes. Particular attention is given to borrowing, neologisms, and culturally marked vocabulary, which significantly influence the semantic structure of terms and create challenges in translation and standardization. The study emphasizes the importance of context-based translation strategies, semantic clarification, and the development of unified terminological standards. The findings demonstrate that a comparative analysis of polysemous logistics and e-commerce terminology contributes to improving professional communication, translation accuracy, and terminology management in multilingual environments.
