THE RUBAI GENRE AND ITS METALLIC FEATURES IN THE WORK OF ALISHER NAVAI

This article examines the theoretical and practical foundations of the rubāʿī genre in the works of Alisher Navoi, with particular attention to the formation of rubāʿī metres within the axrab and axram branches of the hazaj metre. Current scholarly debates in modern literary studies concerning the metrical criteria of the rubāʿī and its distinction from other quatrain forms are analyzed. Based on classical sourcessuch as Navoi’s Mezon ul-avzon and Babur’s Boburnama, Mukhtasar, and Treatise on Aruz, the metrical system of the rubāʿī is scientifically substantiated. The article also summarizes major twentieth-century Uzbek literary studies devoted to the rubāʿī genre. In addition, it discusses the teaching of the rubāʿī in general secondary education, the stages of metrical analysis, and the effectiveness of innovative pedagogical methods in explaining the metrical structure of rubāʿī poetry
