COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PLOT OF THE EPISTLE "ALPOMISH" AND THE STORY "SHAYKH SAN'ON" BY ALISHER NAVOI

Uzbek literature possesses a range of creative masterpieces that can compete with world literature in terms of scope and artistry. The epic “Alpamysh” and the tale of “Sheikh San’an” are considered high–art works belonging to this category. This article provides a comparative study of the plots of the “Alpamysh” and the “Sheikh San’an”. Special emphasis is placed on the motifs that form the similarities between the two epics. Specifically, the analysis is conducted based on the motifs of dreams, journeys, and trials. This is because motifs, as structural components of a plot, bring the work together as a unified whole.
