Аннотация

The present study aimed to evaluate modern approaches to the treatment and prevention of bovine pyroplasmosis and theileriosis, which are among the most widespread and economically significant tick-borne diseases of cattle. These hemoprotozoan infections cause serious damage to livestock production due to reduced milk yield, weight loss, impaired reproductive performance, and, in severe cases, high mortality. Their распространение в эндемичных регионах приводит к значительным экономическим потерям, что определяет необходимость разработки эффективных методов контроля. Particular attention was given to assessing the therapeutic efficacy of uzbicarb in infected cattle. The drug was administered at a dose of 3 mg per kilogram of live body weight. Clinical and laboratory observations confirmed its pronounced therapeutic effect. Treated animals showed a rapid reduction in fever, depression, anemia, and loss of appetite. Hematological parameters gradually normalized, and the overall physiological condition improved. Most animals recovered within a short period, indicating the high practical value of uzbicarb in veterinary practice. In addition, the prophylactic effectiveness of polycarb was evaluated under field conditions. Preventive administration provided protection against theileriosis for up to 15 days. During this period, treated animals remained clinically healthy despite natural exposure to tick vectors. These findings suggest that polycarb can be effectively used as a preventive measure in high-risk areas, especially during periods of increased vector activity. Economic analysis demonstrated that preventive treatment is highly cost-effective. Each unit of investment yielded a 7.6-fold return due to reduced disease incidence and lower treatment costs. Overall, the implementation of effective therapeutic and preventive strategies significantly improves disease control, enhances animal health and productivity, and reduces economic losses in cattle farming.
