Аннотация

This article analyzes the literary heritage of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, with particular focus on the significance of the Baburnama in world scholarship and literature. It examines studies and creative works produced under the influence of Babur’s legacy by foreign scholars. The translations of Babur’s rubai written in Tug‘ro by S. Beveridge, W. Thackston, and Annemarie Schimmel are comparatively analyzed, highlighting their translation strategies and approaches. Special attention is given to the rendering of key lexical units such as “Islam,” “infidel,” “martyr,” and “ghazi,” as well as to the issue of semantic adequacy in translation. The article also emphasizes the importance of Babur’s heritage for comparative literature, contrastive linguistics, and translation studies.
