Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Аннотация
Functional hypothalamic amenorrhea (FHA) is a reversible disorder of menstrual function caused by dysfunction of the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis without organic abnormalities. The article examines the role of psychoemotional stress as one of the key factors in the pathogenesis of FHA, leading to suppression of gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion, decreased levels of gonadotropins, and impaired ovulatory function. Data on the prevalence of this condition, its significance among adolescents, athletes, and women with low body weight, as well as possible complications, including osteoporosis, cardiovascular disorders, and infertility, are presented. Special attention is paid to the problem of underdiagnosis of FHA in Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, and the low awareness of patients regarding the significance of symptoms. The need for early detection and a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of this condition is emphasized.
