Аннотация

Politeness strategies constitute an essential aspect of communicative behavior and reflect the cultural norms embedded in language systems. This study explores the linguocultural features of politeness strategies in English and Karakalpak languages, with particular attention to their structural, pragmatic, and cultural dimensions. Furthermore, the study highlights significant differences in the use of address forms, modal constructions, and pragmatic strategies. Special attention is given to translation issues, revealing that literal equivalence often fails to convey the intended pragmatic meaning. Therefore, functional equivalence, pragmatic adaptation, and cultural substitution are identified as key strategies for effective translation. Ultimately, the findings emphasize that politeness is a culturally conditioned phenomenon, and its accurate interpretation requires both linguistic and intercultural competence.
