THE HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPT OF GRAMMATICAL CATEGORY

This article analyzes the formation and historical development of the concept of grammatical category from ancient linguistics to modern linguistic theories. The interpretations of grammatical categories in ancient, Arabic, Turkic, European and Uzbek linguistics are discussed. The linguistic nature and educational significance of grammatical categories are explained through noun categories. The article also evaluates the representation of grammatical categories in modern textbooks from a scientific and methodological perspective.
