ADVANCED ELECTRO-THERMAL MODELING OF LITHIUM-ION BATTERY SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Аннотация
Battery systems are the primary energy source of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), directly influencing driving range, charging behavior, thermal stability, energy efficiency, and long-term operational durability. The increasing adoption of electric mobility has intensified the need for advanced battery modeling techniques capable of predicting real-world vehicle performance under varying environmental conditions. Electro-thermal battery models combine electrical behavior, thermal dynamics, degradation mechanisms, and auxiliary power demand into integrated simulation frameworks. This paper presents a theoretical overview of electro-thermal lithium-ion battery modeling for electric vehicles, focusing on battery architecture, equivalent circuit modeling, thermal management systems, degradation mechanisms, and simulation methodologies. Special attention is given to the influence of ambient temperature on battery operation and the importance of thermal management systems in modern electric vehicles [1], [2].
