Аннотация

Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in pregnant women is one of the most common pathological conditions adversely affecting fetal intrauterine development and the health status of young children. The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of gestational IDA on red blood parameters and the formation of health disorders in infants during the first year of life. Dynamic follow-up of children was carried out during the neonatal period and at the ages of 2 and 12 months. Hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels, as well as risk factors for iron deficiency conditions, were assessed. It was found that children born to mothers with IDA had persistently decreased red blood parameters, higher rates of infectious morbidity, delayed physical and psychomotor development. The obtained data confirm the significant role of maternal iron deficiency in the development of health disorders in young children.
