The article examines modern approaches to teaching literary texts in primary school and the possibilities for enhancing their effectiveness. The importance of literary texts as a means of developing language, artistic, and communicative competence in young students is emphasized. Innovative methods are analyzed, including intertextual analysis, contextual explanation, interactive methods, and multimodal technologies, which contribute to the development of critical thinking, creative abilities, and reading interest. Special attention is given to the integration of modern digital and visual teaching tools, which allow a deeper understanding of literary texts and the assimilation of cultural and moral values embedded in the works. The research results show that the systematic use of innovative methods improves teaching effectiveness, fosters a sustainable interest in reading among primary school students, and develops skills for meaningful comprehension of literary works.
