LEXICAL SEMANTICS AND CHARACTER SPEECH AS A COMMUNICATIVE MODEL IN HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE: A TOOL FOR DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL COLLABORATION AND INNOVATIVE THINKING

This extended research paper examines the role of lexical semantics in shaping character speech in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The study investigates how lexical choices contribute to characterization, social identity, stylistic variation, and emotional expression. Drawing on qualitative textual analysis, the research explores semantic fields, connotation, register, and discourse features in the speech of major characters. The findings indicate that lexical semantics functions as a central stylistic mechanism that enhances narrative depth, supports character development, and strengthens reader engagement.
