Women, Youth, ESG and Inclusive Talent Development Through Uzbekistan's University-Industry Alliance
Аннотация
This study explores gender disparities affecting women and youth in development through university–industry alliances in Uzbekistan. Recent reforms promote equality; however, men still dominate STEM careers due to cultural norms and bias. Overcoming this gap requires incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics to align collaboration with inclusive development objectives. Using qualitative approach, the research evaluates institutional developments from Uzbek universities and reports from government and international organizations. Findings reveal gaps in current practices that restrict inclusive talent development. The study proposes ESG-based frameworks tailored to local conditions. These are designed to guide policymakers in the Ministries of Higher Education and Innovation, Employment and Labor Relations, and Investment and Foreign Trade in shaping policies that expand equitable access to education and support sustainable, inclusive talent development.
