Аннотация

AI-driven social engineering further strengthens manipulation by exploiting human emotions such as trust, fear, urgency, authority, curiosity, and sympathy. Unlike static phishing templates, AI-enabled systems can adapt in real time, respond to victim questions, adjust tone and pressure, and maintain convincing conversations across multiple digital channels. Deepfake technologies add another serious dimension by enabling realistic fake audio, video, and images that can impersonate executives, employees, public figures, or family members. Such synthetic content can be used for financial fraud, identity theft, misinformation, reputational harm, corporate espionage, and unauthorized access to sensitive systems. This review examines the evolution, mechanisms, impacts, and defensive challenges associated with AI-enhanced phishing, social engineering, and deepfake threats. It also highlights the limitations of traditional cybersecurity awareness programs and signature-based detection methods in addressing adaptive AI-enabled attacks.
