Computation and application of nematode community indices: general guidelines.

This paper provides a brief historical perspective of the use of community indices for nematode communities. Equations for maturity and diversity indices are presented, and common indices (diversity, dominance, evenness and (dis)similarity indices) used to characterize the distribution of abundance within a community are tabulated. The use of trophic group ratios and multivariate approaches are also briefly discussed.
