EFFICACY OF ROSUVASTATIN ON LIPID PARAMETERS AND VASCULAR AND INFLAMMATORY MARKERS IN PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME AND CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE

Aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy of rosuvastatin in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS) and coronary artery disease (CAD) and its effect on endothelial functions and inflammatory state. Material and Methods. 94 patients with MetS and CAD from February 2018 to October 2019 were enrolled. CAD was confirmed by coronary angiography and metabolic syndrome were defined by the harmonized definition of the MetS in all patients. All laboratory and anthropometric measures were done at baseline and after the treatment. Results. After the treatment LDL-C, TC, TG significantly reduced whereas HDL-C increased than baseline. In addition, during the treatment with rosuvastatin all inflammatory factors and vascular markers have improved. Conclusion: Rosuvastatin showed favorable effect to improve lipid, inflammatory parameters and vascular markers in patients with metabolic syndrome and coronary artery disease
