Аннотация

The article analyzes the processes of formation of Japanese writing and phonetic system, the introduction of Chinese writing system into Japan and the adaptation of this process to Japanese language. The gojuon scheme, the articulatory sequence of consonants and vowels, pa–fa–ha sound changes and the emergence of handakuten/dakuten signs indicate that Japanese writing has approached phonetic accuracy. The eight-vowel system discovered by Hashimoto Shinkichi served as a scientific explanation of the phenomena of spelling in ancient Japanese. The study sheds light on the historical development of Japanese writing and phonetic thinking, the natural evolution of language and the process of accurate expression of oral speech through graphic signs in writing.
