THE EMERGANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE DETECTIVE GENRE AND ITS THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LITERARY TRADITIONS
Аннотация
The detective genre is one of the most popular and intellectually engaging forms of modern literature. It first appeared in nineteenth-century English literature and later developed in many other literary traditions, including Uzbek literature. This article examines the historical emergence of detective fiction in English literature, its theoretical foundations, and its development in Uzbek literary tradition. The study also compares the structural and thematic features of detective fiction in both cultures. The research shows that while English detective fiction emphasized rational thinking and individual intelligence, Uzbek detective fiction was strongly influenced by historical and ideological conditions, especially during the Soviet period. In the post-independence era, Uzbek detective literature has become more diverse and psychologically complex. The study concludes that although the genre developed under different social and cultural circumstances, it shares universal structural principles and continues to evolve in response to social change.
