KEY ASPECTS OF TEACHING ENGLISH EXPRESSIONS TO JOURNALISM STUDENTS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION
Аннотация
In the context of globalization and digital media development, journalism students are increasingly required to possess strong foreign language competence, particularly in English. Beyond general language proficiency, the ability to understand and use journalistic expressions accurately is essential for effective media communication, news reporting, and professional discourse. This article examines the key aspects of teaching English expressions to journalism students and highlights pedagogical strategies that support the development of professional communicative competence. Drawing on phraseological competence theory, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and communicative language teaching, the study adopts a qualitative-descriptive methodology involving theoretical analysis and classroom observation. The findings demonstrate that context-based, genre-oriented, and task-based instruction significantly enhances journalism students’ comprehension and practical use of English expressions. The study concludes that systematic integration of journalistic expressions into authentic communicative tasks is vital for preparing students for professional media environments.
