GENERAL MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN THE CHRONIC PHASE OF NONSPECIFIC ULCERATIVE COLITIS
Аннотация
This study is devoted to the investigation of morphological and histological changes developing in the colonic mucosa during the chronic phase of nonspecific ulcerative colitis (NUC). The research material consisted of colonic biopsy specimens obtained from 52 patients with chronic NUC who underwent surgical treatment in the Proctology Department of the Andijan State Medical Institute Clinic during 2019–2024. Histological examinations were performed using hematoxylin and eosin staining. The results revealed the presence of superficial and deep ulcers in the mucosa, chronic proliferative inflammatory infiltrates, as well as hyperplasia and infiltration of lymphoid follicles in chronic NUC. During the remission period, two histological variants of pseudopolyps were identified as a result of dysregenerative processes. The obtained findings are of significant importance for the morphological assessment of the chronic course of NUC and for the early detection of precancerous conditions.
