Abstract Statistic copolymers of methyl methacrylate, allyl‐2‐mercaptobenzothiazole or allyl‐1,2, 3‐benzotriazole, containing up to 10 mole % of the latter were studied. Using viscosimetric and infrared spectrometry methods it was shown that the increased content of certain stabilizing agents brings about an increased light stability effect in the polymer product. Moreover, such properties were found to survive in graft copolymers of poly(vinyl chloride) and 2‐mercaptobenzothiazole and 1, 2, 3‐benzotriazole acrylic derivatives in the form of films and fibers.
