Intermediate state of ferro- and antiferromagnets and absorption of ultrasound

It is shown that the dependence of the phase concentration on the sound pressure results in an abrupt growth of ultrasound absorption in the intermediate state of antiferromagnets in proportion to ω2He2/HA2 (He and HA are the exchange field and the field of magnetic anisotropy, and ω is the ultrasound frequency). This absorption is considerably more intensive than the ultrasound absorption due to phononphonon and phonon-magnon collisions, as well as that related to the mechanism proposed by Bar’yakhtar and Ivanov.
