Investigations are carried out on the creep of normal hydrogen over wide ranges of temperature and stress. It is shown that plastic deformation of solid n-H2 is conditioned by two different mechanisms. The important influence is revealed of the electrostatic quadrupole-quadrupole interaction of orthomolecules on the rate of plastic deformation of n-H2 in the low temperature region. The role of quantum effects is discussed.
