Thermal processes in superconductors carrying a load current

Annotatsiya

Results are presented of an experimental study concerning the effect of thermal processes on the emergence of the resistive state while a current destroys the superconductivity. In film specimens having constrictions (bridges) and carrying a load current larger than critical the transition from natural convection to bubble boiling lowers the temperature of the specimen and produces a decreasing range along the current–voltage characteristic. The negative-differential-resistance range disappears either during measurements in superfluid helium or in the absence of a direct contact with helium.
