Annotatsiya

A study is made of the low-temperature features of the crystal field acting on a Ni2+ ion replacing a Zn2+ ion in a ZnSiF6·6H2O crystal. It is shown that the axial distortion of the water molecule complex forming the immediate environment of the paramagnetic ion is a compression along the third-order axis. The wide potentialities of the use of the method of axial pressures for perturbing the energy states of a paramagnetic ion are demonstrated.
