Annotatsiya
The effect of an adsorbed monolayer of weakly bound impurities on heat transfer through a liquid helium–solid interface is treated within the framework of a simple model. The presence of such a monolayer on the solid surface is shown to cause formation of low-frequency quasisurface and true surface states whose contribution to heat transfer between the two media can be decisive at certain temperatures. The calculated results are in qualitative agreement with the experimentally observed temperature dependence of the thermal boundary resistance.
