Annotatsiya

It is shown that there is a new possibility of realizing a band-type spectrum for electrons in superlattices with a macroscopic period by using surface electrons in liquid helium. A substrate with a periodic surface profile (of the diffraction grating type) is proposed as the superlattice. The parameters of the electron spectrum are calculated and an analysis is made of the possibility of observing effects which are nonlinear (in the electric field).
