Annotatsiya

We have measured the dielectric constant of normal (n-H2) and para-hydrogen (p-H2) along the saturation line for temperatures between 15 and 32.2 °K, and have obtained the corresponding values of the molar polarizability p = (ϵ — l)v/(ϵ + 2) (v is the molar volume). The temperature dependence of P is quite different for n-H2 as compared with p-H2, and at the higher temperatures there is uncertainty about the value of v for n-H2. The difference observed in polarizability between n-H2 and p-H2 is analyzed in terms of existing theory.
