Annotatsiya

It is proposed that stratification of 3He–4He liquid solutions be used for spatial separation of opposite charges and for the formation of new neutral quasiparticles with a large dipole moment (diplons) in helium. The diplon binding energy is calculated and collective excitations in the proposed system are considered. An analysis is made of the new experimental capabilities which may be provided by such quasiparticles for the study of the surface properties of quantum fluids.
