Annotatsiya

A theoretical and experimental investigation is conducted on the surface impedance of a metal plate placed in a permanent magnetic field perpendicular to the surface, under one-sided excitation by an electromagntic wave. It is shown that the periods of impedance oscillation, associated with excitation of a doppleron, are not always doubled completely for nonspecular electron reflection from the surface (the even and odd harmonics are of different amplitude) in contrast to the case of two-sided excitation. The period of the dimensional oscillations associated with the surface current oscillations (the high-frequency analog of the Sondheimer effect) is not doubled under purely diffuse reflection. The field, frequency, and temperature dependences of the oscillation amplitudes with doubled and not-doubled periods are studied. A distinct relationship between the amplitudes of the even and odd oscillation harmonics is also observed in an experimental investigation, depending on the magnitude of the magnetic field, the frequency of the external electromagnetic wave, and the specimen temperature. The experimental results are in good qualitative agreement with the results of the theory.
