Annotatsiya
We have analyzed the dynamical properties of solid hydrogen with a small population of its ortho species. It is shown that the rotational–vibrational interaction of the orthomolecules with the paramolecules may lead to excitation of collective orthophonon vibrations in the crystal. Excitation of the latter is accompanied by rearrangement of the vibrational spectrum of the crystal with formation of a gap of forbidden vibrations. The critical temperature Tc at which the indicated rearrangement takes place is about 0.1 °K for an ortho state concentration c ∼10−2–10−4.
