Annotatsiya
The optical conductivity of monocrystalline gadolinium has been measured in the energy region 0.5–3.1 eV, for temperatures of 4.2, 77, and 293°K. The results obtained are compared with previously published results. It is shown that the absorption band at an energy of 0.66 eV in the optical conductivity spectrum of gadolinium (with EIC) disappears with destruction of the magnetic order and, therefore, cannot be explained by interband transitions.
