Effect of intercalation on the low-temperature specific heat of the layered crystal Pbl2
Annotatsiya
Investigations of the temperature dependences of the specific heats of lead iodide samples intercalated by different organic molecules (piperidine, aniline, pyridine) have revealed that these molecules interact differently with the matrix layers. It is suggested, on the basis of investigations of a number of PbI2 (piperidine) samples differing in their organic-molecule contents, that a single-phase PbI2 (piperidine) sample can exist in a narrow region near the stoichiometric composition. Measurements of the CP(T) of a completely deintercalated sample have shown that the intercalation process is reversible, and that the specific heat is insensitive to the surface of the intercalated samples.
