An experimental study was made of the effect of thermal shocks on the thermal conductivity of He4 single crystals with a molar volume of 20.56 cm3/mole. An analysis of the temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity indicates that the experimental results can be described accurately when the scattering of phonons by dislocations is taken into account.
