Annotatsiya

Features observed at double phonon energies are investigated in detail in the point contact spectra of a number of metals. It is shown that they are related to sequential electron scattering by two phonons in the contact domain. A comparison of the experimental data with results of a theoretical model proposed earlier showed good qualitative and satisfactory quantitative agreement for metals possessing a simple phonon spectrum. With respect to the intensities of one and two-phonon processes, this permits determination of the presence and degree of homogeneity of an impurity distribution in the point contact domain.
