Effect of the Abrikosov-vortex density on dislocation hysteresis losses in Pb–In single crystals
Annotatsiya
Dislocation hysteresis losses δh have been studied as a function of the magnetic induction ℬ in a specimen. As ℬ increases the value of δh decreases abruptly and reaches a plateau at ℬ≳2/3ℬc2. Plastic deformation of single crystals results in a lower ratio of the deformation amplitudes necessary for attaining the same value of δh in the n and s states. At higher values of the deformation this ratio becomes equal to unity. The results of our investigations show that the introduction of Abrikosov vortices into a crystal increases the dislocation damping coefficient, and as a consequence the unpinning stress of underdamped dislocation segments increases. In the case of overdamped dislocation segments the unpinning dynamics does not depend on the damping coefficient.
