Within the framework of the known hopping approximation we calculate the diffusion coefficient D with allowance for the hcp symmetry and the anisotropic impurity–impurity interaction potential. The estimated value 20.5 cm3/mole for the specific volume indicates that the values of D along the c axis and in the basal plane differ by a factor of almost three.
