Annotatsiya
The energy gap between the two lowest levels of surface electrons above a 3He–4He solution is calculated theoretically as a function of the thickness of the layer enriched in the light isotope. The value of the energy gap is shown to depend appreciably on the thickness of the 3He layer. The results obtained permit direct information about the thickness of the 3He layer in a microstratified 3He–4He solution to be obtained from measurements of the energy spectrum of surface electrons.
