Annotatsiya

The effect of initiation of the crystallization of amorphous films of ytterbium by a magnetic field directed perpendicular to the plane of the film has been investigated. It is assumed that the magnetic field brings about the formation in the film of the initial crystalline “domain.” The subsequent transition takes place in accordance with the well known avalanche (explosive) crystallization mechanism.
