Excess current in superconducting wide films

The resistive state arising in wide long films with the suppression of superconductivity by current flow is studied. It is established that for high transport currents a voltage-independent excess current I0 is observed on the current–voltage characteristics. Video images of the resistive state in this region of currents, obtained by the method of laser scanning, indicate that the entire film is in the resistive state. The dependence of I0 on the magnetic field and the microwave power was determined.
