Annotatsiya

The effect that a defect layer on the surface of a thin single-crystal tungsten plate has on the skin effect in a magnetic field perpendicular to the surface of the sample has been studied experimentally for symmetrical and antisymmetrical modes of wave excitation. The behavior of the surface impedance is different for a rough surface than for an electropolished surface. In the case of the symmetric excitation mode, the impedance losses are observed to have maximum value for unknown reasons. An unusual (linear) frequency dependence of the position of the loss maxima on the axis of the magnetic field has been found for both excitation modes. The observed behavior of the smooth dependence of the impedance is attributed to the change in the conditions of electron scattering on the destructured surface.
