Scattering of a fluxon at the interface between two long Josephson junctions
Annotatsiya
The interaction of a nonlinear solitary wave of magnetic flux (fluxon) with the contact boundary between two long Josephson junctions is described. It is shown with the help of the perturbation theory for solitons that the motion of a slow fluxon can be regarded as the motion of a classical particle in an effective stepped potential. The conditions under which the stopping of a fluxon (binding with the interface) and its oscillation are possible, are indicated. It is pointed out that in the bound state a fluxon can absorb energy resonantly, owing to the alternating component of the external current. The transition radiation generated by the fluxon on passage through an interface is studied. The total radiated energy is calculated and its spectral composition is determined. It is predicted that the dependence of the radiated energy on the density of the external current is nonmonotonic.
