Annotatsiya
The main critical anomalies during ferroelastic phase transitions are mainly observed in the behavior of the elastic properties of crystals. A sharp decrease in the transverse sound velocity in certain symmetric directions is observed, and it is shown that the linear piezomagnetic effect may considerably change the critical behavior of softening sound in conducting crystals. In particular, the velocity of sound remains finite at the critical point.
