Annotatsiya

Experimental investigations of creep in crystalline methane revealed a considerable increase in the steady-state creep rate in the vicinity of phase transition (by a factor of 40 to 100 under stresses of 300 and 440 gf/mm2, respectively) and between 9 and 4.5 K (by a factor of three under a stress of 200 gf/mm2). The low-temperature anomaly in the creep rate is attributed to the spin quantum conversion in methane.
